The Clinic is located about 35 miles north of Kabul and is the only clinic in the Kalakan region. The clinic provides free-of-charge medical and dental services to more than 14,000 men, women, and children from the nine nearby villages. Some of the services that the clinic offers include: general medical care, birth control, family care, prenatal care, vaccination, and dental care. The clinic staffs 11 employees, including a doctor, dentist, midwife, certified vaccinator, pharmacist, and technical staff. Our organization is the only monetary provider for keeping this facility up and running.

It is estimated that 70 percent of 10-year-olds in low- and middle-income countries are unable to read and understand a simple story. Helping children feel prepared and empowered to learn is a big part of OAAW’s mission in education.
