The Aymini School is a coeducational public school in the Chilsitoon area of Kabul that serves over 3,700 students at the primary and secondary levels. Constructed in 2007 with assistance from USAID and expanded across time, Aymini features 120 teachers and administrative staff and a number of support facilities: a library, volleyball court, health clinic, and daycare center. The school also has a water tower that provides students with fountain access to clean drinking water. Since the initial development of the Aymini School, OAAW has been an essential sponsor and support organization. Over time, OAAW has improved the school’s plumbing system and supported the maintenance of its facilities; purchased over 3,000 pairs of shoes for students; and contributed books to the school library and provided financial support for the janitorial staff in every year since 2007. With OAAW’s continual support for the operation and improvement of the school, students at Aymini now have a place that provides learning, stability, and support.
